According to the World Health Organization, atleast 7,529 people
globally have died from COVID-19 , while more than 180,000 infections have been confirmed in at least 150 countries.
The coronavirus spreads from one person to another in close proximity. Incase an infected person coughs or sneezes, droplets of body fluids ie saliva or mucus are dispersed in the air or on surfaces.People get infected when they touch infected surfaces or get in contact with the droplets and then touch there face.It is not clear how long the virus can survive outside a host.The length of time before symptoms start showing, is between one and 14 days.
How you can protect
Frequently wash your hands with soap or sanitizers.Cover your face with a tissue or elbow when coughing or sneezing and finally visit a doctor if you have symptoms.
Wearing face Masks may provide some protection to you and others, but
because they are loose and made of permeable material, droplets can
still pass through.
What are the symptoms?
According to the WHO, signs of infection include fever, cough,shortness of breath and breathing difficulties.
In more severe cases, it can lead to pneumonia, multiple organ failure
and even death.
